In response to a critical shortage of personal protective equipment for health workers in Connecticut, MakerspaceCT is launching a community project to manufacture face shields and other PPE.
We are in production now and we need your help! Donations will help us source supplies and equipment, plus we have Work From Home (non-member) and On-Site (member-only) volunteer opportunties.

Making A Difference In A Time Of Crisis: MakerspaceCT's COVID Response
It began as a Google Hangout to brainstorm ideas for providing assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, we are in full-scale production to fill the need for personal protective equipment for local first responders and front-line medical workers.
Our community of members, volunteers and staff are 3D printing parts and sourcing off-the-shelf materials for face shields. The streamlined manufacturing process in our Hartford facility is designed to get help quickly to emergency management and healthcare facilities.
This week we responded to the first call for 500 units, but the need could be as many as 10,000 face shields per week just in the Hartford area alone. We'll continue to help meeting the local need until the global supply chain catches up to the demand.
