In this online class, students will learn Inkscape for the laser cutter! This platform is a favorite of makers everywhere for its lightweight, free and open-source model with a thriving community to support it. Inkscape is professional quality vector graphics software which runs on Linux, Mac OS X and Windows desktop computers. It integrates neatly with laser operations, allowing quick and easy creation of simple, yet slick designs. This class is suitable for anyone who has experience with Inkscape or Illustrator and wants to hone their skills, or absolute beginners.

In this class, students will how to fold the basics of origami corrugations, variations of the miura-ori map fold. These are mountainous shadow-playing origami forms that can be produced on CNC machines (such as a laser cutter), and then folded to create extraordinary designs. No origami experience is necessary.
