CNC Machining & Mastercam + HAAS Certificate

Prerequisites:
Participants must complete the HAAS Basic Mill Operation online course prior to Session 1. Completion of this course, combined with the in-person Session 1 training, qualifies participants to receive a HAAS Basic Mill Certificate. Basic computer skills are required; no prior CNC experience is necessary.

Overview:
This two-part workshop introduces participants to the complete workflow of computer-aided manufacturing — from machine setup and operation to digital toolpath creation. Students will gain real-world experience programming and running a HAAS CNC mill using industry-standard tools and software.

MORNING Session 1 – HAAS CNC Setup, Tooling & Operation:
Work hands-on with a HAAS CNC mill to power up, home the machine, load tooling, and execute a CNC program. Learn about feeds and speeds, offsets, first-article inspection, and proper machine cleanup. Upon completing this session and the HAAS online module, students will earn the HAAS Basic Mill Certificate.

AFTERNOON Session 2 – Introduction to Mastercam (CAM Programming):
Learn to navigate the Mastercam interface, create basic 2D geometry, and generate simple toolpaths for drilling and contouring. Students will post-process their own NC code for use on the HAAS CNC mill.

Learning Outcomes:
Participants will leave with a solid understanding of CNC workflow — from setting up and running a machine to programming custom toolpaths in Mastercam — and will produce their own machined part.
